Perhaps the most recognized lens around the world, the Volk 20D is the lens that started the legacy of double aspheric lens design for BIO and is still considered as a gold standard. The contributing factors for this are the perfect balance of field of view and magnification of the 20D. The working distance of 50 mm also makes lens manipulation a comfortable experience for the examiner. This lens is perfect for general diagnosis of patients with a 3x magnification and field of view that allows visualization up to the mid peripheral region. The dynamic examination with the appropriate eye movements by the patients allows viewing of the peripheral retina as well as detailed examination by BIO in the primary position provides a comprehensive estimate of retinal health. Thus, this lens is a great choice both as a first line of diagnosis as well as a high level central retinal examination.

With a wide field of view, this lens offers visualization past the mid peripheral region up to the equator and the peripheral retina upon dynamic examination. The optical design and power of this lens makes it a great choice when working with patients that have a small pupil or do not respond well to dilation such as infants or older populations. The small profile as well as a closer working distance make enable the doctor to easily manipulate the lens for a quick examination, especially with patients who may not remain still for a long time. Most widely used for examination and assessment of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) and peripheral retinal defects such as tears and detachments.

This lens is a great choice for those who prefer a wider field of view during general diagnosis. With a magnification only slightly lesser than that of a 20D, this lens is an easy transition to obtain a wider field of view which allows a quicker diagnosis procedure. The field of view through this lens allows clear visualization up to the mid peripheral region and the peripheral retina upon dynamic examination for easy access to examine and determine peripheral retinal tears, hemorrhages and other defects.

The digital clear field can be described as the new standard in mid field BIO lenses for general diagnosis. With reduced optical interferences as aberrations and reflections, the clear field offers stunning views out to the equator and periphery upon dynamic examination. Thus, this lens is a perfect choice for peripheral retinal examination such as retinal detachments. It combines the perfect balance of the field of view of the Pan retinal with an increased magnification but with the smaller working distance, closer to the 25D.

The 30D lens provides a wide field of view up to the equator on static BIO examination and up to the peripheral retina upon dynamic examination. This lens can be used to get through small pupils for patients who do not prefer or accommodate dilation and as a result is a popular choice for doctors who attend to pediatric patients. The small profile of the lens allows quick and easy examination enhancing patient comfort and cooperation. Can be used for examination and diagnosis of peripheral retinal defects such as tears and detachments as well as neovascularization. The 30D is also available in a smaller ring size (30D small) as an option to practitioners who prefer an even more reduced size for easier manipulation around the orbit.

The Pictor Plus™ portable ophthalmic camera can take your
practice places. From the exam room to on-location screenings,
nursing home calls and everywhere in between.
Two easily interchangeable modules provide high resolution retinal (non-mydriatic) or external eye imaging.
Retinal Module - Pictor Plus retinal imaging enables non-mydriatic fundus examination with a 40º field of view. With digital still and video images, the appearance of optic disc, macula and retinal vasculature can be screened and documented for ocular lesions and anomalies.
Anterior Module - Pictor Plus anterior imaging provides high-resolution images of the surface of the eye and areas directly surrounding the eye. The cobalt blue LED light allows fluorescent imaging to detect a dry eye or any trauma on the ocular surface.
